T. May Pini, MD, MPH is a Principal with Premier, Inc.’s Population Health team. She has expertise in quality improvement and health informatics, and previously worked as a primary care physician, and as a medical oncologist and cancer prevention specialist. Throughout her career, she has focused on work to understand gaps in quality of care, the impact of care-delivery systems and processes on clinical outcomes and health care services utilization, and the sustainability of targeted performance improvement interventions to improve quality of care.
Dr. Pini graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She received a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Pini completed an internal medicine internship at Tufts Medical Center and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and was a post-doctoral fellow in the Veterans Administration National Quality Scholars Program. She completed Hematology/Oncology fellowship training at the University of Michigan Health System and was an Assistant Professor at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Pini initially joined Premier as a Principal Data Scientist and led informatics research and development for Population Health solutions.
